I think this is my favorite of the Chronicles of Narnia stories. I remember reading this a long time ago and being drawn in by the underground city. Any story that has an underground world in it (i.e. The Princess and the Goblin, The Lord of the Rings, Perelandra, The Divine Comedy, etc.) sticks with me. I think it’s because I am fascinated by the “what ifs” of the underworld. Such fun ideas to consider. It may be why Job 28 is my favorite chapter of the Bible which compares mining for treasure to searching for wisdom. Good stuff.
